I'm the in-house computer guy at our local police department. I'm actually a dispatcher but I fix stuff. To the story, a battery back up in my basement is beeping. The cell is dying. Plugged into it is a Lucent Page Pal? What is it? I need to know if it has to be plugged into a battery back up or not. I searched the 'net high and low and this is the only promising site I've found. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

A PagePal is an interface used for For loudspeaker paging. It goes between the Phone system and the Paging amplifier (there may be no Paging amplifier is the speakers are Self amplified)

Unless the Paging Amp is plugged into a UPS also it really won't do much during a power failure except drain the UPS battery faster.
