Close current view button does not work

when the viewer is open, clicking the 'X' (or Close current view) button from the toolbar does nothing. all the other buttons work fine...

any cause for this?

That button only closes a view other than the main report on the viewer (e.g. a drill-down view, or an on-demand subreport).
