Hi,

The problem I have is that when my boss opens up a report in preview there is no close button visable even though it is visable on my machine. Is there something basic I am missing here? I have selected the close button to yes when constructing the report, I thought this would apply to all that open the report up.
He does have a different version of Access than me could that be the issue? All he gets is the close button to the entire database and not for just the report he has opened up,

Any help would very much appreciated.

regards
Rob

I'm confused! its a report that does not display the close button, and it is based on a query, unless I've mis-interpreted your answer?

Also although I have control box=yes and close button=yes set on my PC. The computer that runs this report does not have these options available possibly due to it being a different version of Access although I'm not sure if this is the reason.

TIA

Rob

I don't think recorsource has something to do with it. Boarder style(None) may be a factor

Then it is not your application's fault. It might be Access's fault that doesn't have patch update or need repair/re-install of Access in the user PC.

Again, Is there any special code, that only available in the later versions, runs when you open the report?

First of all thanks for the reply. I am beginning to think it is the differences of Acess versions that is the issue. On the users computer there is no selection for border style. I think the older version is very limited. But I cannot undestand why it fails to show a simple close button.
If I open up the report from the actual database screen (i.e. holding shift to bypass login etc). Then the report does show a close button. However, if the same report is opened up from a button within a form then no close button is visable.

There is no code behind the report, it is a very straight forward report based on a simple query.

All help is greatly appreciated

Rob
