I’m working on a BCM 50 Gen 3 and I’m trying the change the DTM-PRI module’s clock source from Secondary external to primary external. However I receive the following error: “Error Happened. Error Detail: The chosen value conflicts with the clock source settings for the other module.” I can switch it to Internal w/o issues. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Change the other module to secondary first then change your module to Primary,..

If you dont have a second module then disable it

I dont have a secondary module and I'm not sure what you mean by disable it? The PRI or the empty module.

Thank you

The empty module doesn't have a option to disable it and when I diable the PRI it still doesn't alow me to change the source.

The 2 expansion modules in telephony resources are you using both of these.
If you are only using 1 and its set for DTM-PRI.
then look at the expansion 2.
If its not used then leave it at empty,
If you had set this to another DTM such as PRI or BRI and are not using it , it will have picked up one of the clocking sources-- Primary.
You should see Enable or Disable in the click boxes below.
If you have set it to empty you may need to reboot the system to clear the clock source.

Is your first expansion DTM working ok.
Are the LEDS steady green,

I am only asking incase you have connected to the wrong expansion.

I'm not using both of the telephony resources. The expansion 2 is empty, and Enable and Disable are grayed out. I have rebooted the system, and it still not alowing me to change the clock source. The alarm LED is soild red because the PRI keeps switching clock sources. The DTM works ok other then that.

Under configuration/System, click on the date and time option.
There is a setting in there for clock source. If it is set to Trunk, change this to Manual, then try to set clock source on DTM

NCSS, NCDS, NCTS

It was set to NTP, I set it to manual and tried again. Still had the same issue.

sorry dint see the previous post
you are to quick for me..slow at typing

Its all good, I appreciate any help I get on this issues. I'm completely lost on what could cause this seeing there has never been another module in the system besides the PRI.

Another thought.

Would your bcm50 main unit be a bcm50b with built in BRI ports.

Not that I know off. It was a new box bought from Jennie Distributing within the states. Is there a way I could check? I don’t see anything under Telephony Resources.

Check the keycodes to see if the internal licence is enabled.
you are looking for 2 internal bri trunks

The only thing active is Exp Port, Internal Analog Sets, Internal Digital Sets, and VM seats. BRI loop is idle.

Sorry i cant think of any thing else right now.
other than patches .
if was a 50b it would be labled on the box and 2 rj45 jacks on the front right top above the cable connector.

hope you sort it..

Drop patches on it last night with no luck. Its defiantly not a 50b then, but thank you for all you help. I might have to factory default it and restore it from a backup to see if that does the trick.
