On one of my Windows NT 4 Servers (SP6a), the seconds on the taskbar clock seem to be running at twice the speed of a normal clock.

This as you can imagine make's the time advance rather quickly, making all my schduled task run far to early.

Has anyone come across this before? Sorry to be a bit vauge. I'm can supply more info on the server setup if required.

Thanks All.

When did this start? What changes? Have you done a virus/spyware scan? Update and scan!!!

I prefer spybot for virus scanning...

P.S. Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.

Spybot for Spyware and perhaps AVG for a virus scan ( ).

Does this serverupdate its time from another machine on the network or perhaps an "atomic clock" utility?

Thanks for info. Think I'll run few scans just to be on the safe side.

For the time being i'm going to try and setup "NET TIME" to run every 15 Mins. However as far as I can see, the windows schduler will only run as frequently as once day.

Can anyone recomend some software which will allow me to run tasks more frequently?

You can also upgrade NT to use w32time instead of the old timeserv. Then you can tell it how often to update without using the scheduler.

I'd definitely figure out whats up with the clock though. They are never very accurate but that is something out of the ordinary.
