Extract from routersim:
--------------------------------
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
2501B(config)#int s0
2501B(config-if)#clock rate 64000
2501B(config-if)#clockrate 64000

% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.

2501B(config-if)#

---------------------------------
What I can't understand is that even though my sim accepts the command 'clock rate', I took a practice exam that stated that the correct command was 'clockrate' (no spaces)

Which one is correct??

Interesting...
A router I have running 12.0(6) behaves as follows:

#clock rate ?
speed (bits per second)
1200
2400
.
.
.
4000000

#clock rate 56000
#
#clockrate ?
%Unrecognized command
#clockrate 56000
#

It seems both formats will set the speed ok..but "clockrate"
produces an error message..
Both my routers are at 12.0(6)

when i use the routers in the cisco course i'm taking it depends on the router you are using.

there are 3 1700s and 5 2600s. with the 1700s the IOS will take the clockrate in two words only. on the 2600s the IOS will take it both ways.

so i guess you get to pick.

For exam purposes assume its two words

eg

router#(conf-if)clock rate <speed>

Thanks for feedback guys, I've noticed the command appears as 'clock rate' on other CCNA exam sites so will stick to that.

Passed 640-507 today - scored 870, and yes I got the 'clock rate' question so just wanted to say thanks again!!
