A few weeks ago my boyfriend got a new computer, it was a Rather Lame™ premade Fry's Electronics computer but it was on sale. I don't know much about it (But here is the info page )

The problem is his clock keeps on resetting every few days. I'm suspecting it might be something with the bios or needing of a new battery. It keeps resetting to 1am October 2nd 2003.

I've never had this problem before so I'm not quite sure how to handle it. Any suggestions on a fix?

Your battery idea is worth pursuing.

I have also added a couple of possibilities from a missing older post.

"We had a machine running Win2K that did this as well. It turned out to be the timezone was set incorrectly for the computer's location - go to the timezone tab and check it is set correctly."

That was from "jrbarnett" in an old missing post.

"copy the below into a notepad session, naming the file fix_time.cmd

***** begin copy/paste below this line *********
net stop w32time
w32tm /unregister
w32tm /unregister
w32tm /register
net start w32time
********* end copy/paste above this line ******"

This was from "Bcastner" in that same old (missing) post.

Double click on the file to run it.
