I have an 81c that has a Clock controller QPC471H in net grp 1 shelf 0 that is working fine. However the clock controller in net 1 shelf 1 is not working at all, when I try to enable (enl cc 1 fdl) it it give me a DTI068 that say "System clock generator is not responding" when I do ssck 1 it say UNEQ.I thought it might be the back plane so I swapped it and the cables out for a brand new ones that I happened to have. Still does the same thing. It's in slot 13 of the net shelf, and is set for cc 1 with the dip switches. Is there something I am missing in the programing. If it means anything I can't enable the conf/tds cards on either shelf.

If it means anything I can't enable the conf/tds cards on either shelf.

1) Are any cards on group 1, shelf 1 working? Superloop cards or T-1 cards?

2) Go to LD 32 and:
.stat per 1

What is the result?

Is the per sig card light on or off in that shelf?

There is in group 0 shelf 1
Slot
1-3PE It seems to be working no red light
2-IGS Both IGS are working I can enable and Disable them
3-IGS and I can stat them.
4-PER SIG It is working too I can stat it and it says ENBL.
5-CONF/TDS LOOPS 32 AND 33 not working I can not enable them
13- Clock Contreoller 1 can not enable.

I have the same problem with the CONF/TDS card in shelf 0 as well. It has all the same cards too.

Just for giggles, if you have a maintenance window, disable per 0 and per 1 in LD 32. Flip those cards around (frog them). LD 32 - enl per 0, enl per 1. See if problem moves or stays in the same shelf.

I will do that that's a great idea.

Thanks I will keep you posted.

I finally got to where I could swap the Per sig cards and the result is no change. I still have the original problem. Anybody got any more ideas.

Again, we get back to a connectivity issue. There is something not connected or something is lose. A cable, plug, some type of connector on the back side of that backplane. Since you have changed everything else out, including the card, backplane, cable, etc... I would try John's ultimate method. Get naked and dance around the switch.

Time to start digging into the back side of that switch. Get your flashlight out!

If you really think getting naked and dancing around the switch will work I'm game, but if you saw me naked it might do more harm than good.

I have traced out all the cables and to my limited knowledge and the ability to compare it to my other 81c all looks well. If anyone has a diagram or something that will show me exactly what cable goes where that would be a tremendous help.

Could it be the cables themselves connecting the 3PE cards to the backplane?

yes it could be, and would be a good idea to find out bfore back plain pain.

Some times it's the little things that drive us mad. I finnally discovered that the jumper setting RN27 on the 3PE card of shelf 1 was set to B not A like the books tell you to set it. Once I changed it everything started working as it should.

Thanks for all the help I would be lost without this site.
