I go into the web broswer and reset the clock on the s8700. the sets reflect the new time. Thirty min later the switch goes back to the old time. Any ideas?

I am having the exact same issue on a brand new Intuity Audix LX. I set the time, then a week later it is falling about 10 mins slow.

Its under maintenance of course b/c it is new, they sent 1 guy out and he tried to say it was because I hadnt rebooted the server in 6 months, we did that and of course that didnt fix it.

In the server/pc world its a battery/motherboard issue.

Anyone else have this problem?

I had the same problem on the 8700. I logged into the maintenance browser and reset the time on the 8700. It took a couple of hours to replicate to all the IP Phone and digital sets in our org., but it's been fine since.

I have the same problem on a AUDIX LX where the time is off by 5 minutes per month. Do you really think its a problem with the mother board, also can't we sync it with a time server of some sort or replace the mother board if thats really it?

For the S8700, if you're not using a NTP server, you need to set time on BOTH servers. When you set time and it jumps back 30 minutes later, that's because the Active server is synching time with the Standby, which still has the incorrect time on it.
I would suggest you follow BuckWeet's advice and use a NTP server. Setup instructions are located below
