Im running CS1 on MAC OS X and when i import an image into indesign then go to OBJECT>CLIPPING PATH to cut the white background out of a photo it seems the CLIPPING PATH has disapeard from the OBJECT MENU and i dont know how to get it back. . .The images are grayscale and are either in JPG or TIFF format.

Hi,

If the clipping path in the object menu is grayed out, then you probably don't have a photo selected.

I presume

Thats just the thing it's not even grayed out. . It has totaly disapeard from the menu and has been that way for a couple of days now ive tried getting it to show up by using different image file formats but it hasnt showed up....

Always best when things disappear from menus is to trash your preferences. I had the page icons disappear entirely from my pages palette (something to do with quitting ID with the menu in the minimised position) and trashing the preferences restored everything.

When using a type manager, any font that is "activated" appears automatically in the InDesign font menu.

Is there any way to prevent an ACTIVATED font from appearing in an InDesign font list?

In other words, I want a particular font available in some programs on the same computer, but not others and vice versa.

Instead of contantly deactivating and the reactivating fonts via type manager, is there any way I can force InDesign not to show them, whether activated or not?

I don't think so.

If you are working on a Mac with OSX, then it is possible to do the reverse - have fonts available in InDesign but not other programs.

If you are working on a Mac with OSX...

or Windows
