does anyone knows what things to consider before migrating a clipper app to oracle.

i've done some research, most of it is about converting the dbf to sql.

i want to know about code migration or do we have to revise the entire code.

any info or article will be greatly appreciated.

Migrating Clipper code to Oracle won't work *at all*, a rewrite would be the only option.

Migrating a dbf to oracle-sql depends on the tools available. Shouldn't be a real problem though.

Accessing Oracle data from Clipper: Get the right RDD and your done s-) Using (x)Harbour instead of Clipper would make things much easier, but direct ODBC/Oracle access isn't available yet AFAIK, maybe in the near future.

No easy way to conert a clipper aplication to an Oracle application, except moving clipper data in to orcale tables.
Everything else is differnt. If you want to use oracle developer tools then you have to scrap entire clipper code and write afresh. even your logic may change considering 4GL nature of oracle dev tools.
