Hello,

We are seeing that our cut and paste functions are not working. One of our published apps is a Unix terminal emulation program which we can never cut and paste to. The other apps are Office Word, etc that work randomly with cutting and pasting.

Have Metaframe XPe on Windows 2003 Terminal Server farm. Consists of 6 servers that are running Future Release 3 and Metaframe Service Pack 3.

-Server 2003 has all the latest and greatest Updates
-Users are running a mix on thinclient and computers
-ICA Client 6.0 (Build 19), 6.30.1050, and 7.100
-Tested cut and paste with all clients, does not work
-Wfshell.exe is running for all users
-Disable Client Clipboard Mapping is NOT checked
-There are no errors in the event log on the servers
-Cmstart.exe is present as a value for AppSetup
-Changed security on wfshell.exe for Users and Everyone to have full control on all boxes.
-We do not use auto created printers.

-In the Registry, on all terminal servers the apps with the problem have this added:
OpenClipboardRetries: Reg_Dword: 0x20
OpenClipboardDelayInMilliSecs: Reg_Dword: 0x50
Flags: Reg_Dword: 0xf

Problem can be repeated on different workstations. We also had a HP 1220c printer installed. We removed that off all servers in the farm. Removed the driver and confirmed it was gone in the registry.

I've seen a lot of posts but nothing that has been a clear answer to the fix of this problem. So far, we have tried everything we have seen. Any other suggestions would be great. Has become a major problem. Thanks!

We don't have any problem with cut/paste in Terminal Services. It depends upon the version of the client you use; some of the really older ones don't have that capability.

Thanks for your input. We have found our problem. Yes, we cannot copy and paste through terminal services. The problem lies in the upgrade from 2000 to 2003. If we do a clean install of 2003 the cutting and pasting works fine in Citrix and Terminal Services. I guess Microsoft has seen a few of these issues but has not come out with a solution yet. For now we are doing a clean install to all our boxes. Thanks
