I have a few machines that are acting strangely (out of 1,000). The client won't install. When I run smsman or smsls, the client begins to install and gets part way through then starts uninstalling itself. I can't check logs because the log folder disappears and the only one left is \ms\sms\core. I've checked permissions everywhere and all is correct. HELP!

you might want to check if the boundaries for those systems are well defined. I had the same problem too.
