We are getting an error trying to start the "Client Network" service on our Citrix Server. The error is as fillows;

"Could not start the client network service on local computer. Error 998: Invalid access to memory location.

In event log there is an event with ID of 26 and description of;

Application popup: cdmsvc.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0x77fcc024"
referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "written".

Click on OK to terminate the program.

According to Citrix knowledgebase document ID: CTX103330, the "solution" is to make sure the Microsoft and Citrix directories are at the beginning of the System's path statement. Upon checking our path statement, those directories were not at the beginning. We have since changed that and rebooted, but that did not resolve the issue. I have not been able to find any mention of an alternate resolution to the problem anywhere else.

If anyone has any ideas I would be very appreciative.

Thanks

Found the fix... Upgraded to SP 4 for Metaframe XP and that resolved the issue. The affected file is replaced by that SP.
