Hi all,
I install Winroute Firewall 5 as user guide (set up, choose dialup connection, NAT as instructing and everything is unchanged). My client web browser is configured Automatically detect settings. But modem on WF host is not dial. After that I choose Proxy server and set client connect to WF server: port 3128. But client web browser still does not work. If I dial in advanced, my client can access internet. Please advice me how to check.
Many thanks

In Interfaces, open your dial up interface properties, go to the tab dialing settings, and change the connection to "on demand". this way the firewall will dial up as soon as there is a packet that needs to be routed to the internet.

good luck.

The response above is correct, but I'd like to point out that on-demand dial only works correctly in a 2000 AD environment if KWF is NOT installed on the same machine as your DNS server service. Just something to bare in mind.

Cheers,

Loz.

thanks morrison, i didn't know that. that's very valuable information when it comes to troubleshooting.
