Having a problem installing SU12 on Client. Install asks for pep15 to be installed. I install the pep but the SU12 install never restarts afterward. I have tried this many times including from after removing the client and all peps. PC is on XP Pro.

Is this the classic client?

SU12C + G015C + G018C is required to get the 'latest & greatest'

Thanks for the reply. I did finally get it going. After removing some folders it worked.

you should first install pep 15c as su12 depends on it. after installation of su12, installation of pep 18 should follow.

Can you tell me what folders you have removed? I have been having a heck of a time with 3 clients and trying to get them on the latest SU. It's like it sees older versions of an SU that was already uninstalled. I can't install the older versions either.

Thanks!

Wish I would have written them down. Haven't run into it since and I don't remember. I am thinking it was the Nortel_ECS, just try renaming it if you don't want to delete.

When uninstalling Client s/w , there are other folders/files which need to be deleted so that you have a clean machine ready to accept a new client install.
Remove client 4 sofware as follows:-
1) Remove any pep's and service updates. Using Add/Remove Programs.

2) Uninstall Client software. Using Add/Remove Programs.

3) Remove C:\ase12clt folder.

4) Remove Sybase Registry keys. From Regedit. Navigate to : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/Session Manager/Environment

Remove SYBASE and SYBASE_OCS

Modify the PATH key to remove any Sybase-related paths. DO NOT remove any winnt paths by mistake.

In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software, remove the key SYBASE

5) Re-boot machine.

6) Re-install Client in normal manner. (If required)
