If I have CLEN 0 on the route that ALL my traffic goes out over, that means this route is referencing CLID table 0, right? do I still have to assign CLID 0 on a set-by-set basis or is that a default? And, if I have CLEN 0 on the route and create a NEW CLID 1 table that shows a different # and assign x1234 CLID 1, what shows on the outbound caller ID? The CLID 0 table or the CLID 1 table? Thank you for your help.

CLEN only is given on non ISDN (PRI) routes. Never had to use it.

CLID tables are built in LD 15 under the prompt NET. A CLID table is not assigned to a route. It is assigned on each phone that has a number programed one it.

example

key 0 scr 5676 0 with the last 0 being the CLID table number.

Go to the NTPs for LD 15 to learn how to program CLID tables. CLID is only used on PRI type T1s.

Table 0 is the default table assigned to a key or phone number if you do not type one in.

thank you Unkalary!! CLEN is only for non-ISDN routes. That makes everything much clearer. We have a non-ISDN route here so that's where I found it. Thank you so much!

I was under the impression that the CLEN prompt (appears if ESA Pkg 329 is equipped) is only associated with ESA calls. Can you tell me if the CLID associated with your non-ISDN route (CLEN 0 would reference CLID table entry 0) is used for 'regular' (i.e. non-ESA) calls?

CLEN is used to assign a CLID to INBOUND CALLS. It is used for analog or DTI trunks, but can be assigned to PRI. On PRI, the CLEN CLID is only used if there is no inbound CLID delivered.

On OUTBOUND analog trunks there is no mechanism to transmit CLID to the CO.

I didn't mention it in my previous note, but I understand that the CLEN prompt is for INBOUND calls... but according to the ESA NTPs, it is used to generate a CLID either for DTI or analog trunks (or PRI trunks if no CLID is received from the originating end), when routing tandem ESA calls. That is, this prompt does not seem to apply to non-ESA calls. What I would like to know is whether the CLID info in LD 15 is used for non-ESA tandem calls arriving on the non-ISDN route and going out on a PRI route to the PSTN as well? If yes, is it the ESA_... information or the 'regular' CLID information that is used?

the tandam call will route through with the attachid clen only, you cannot assign a clid to a route, which means the route takes the information from the orig station. the orig station on the tandom call cannot send cled because the trunk type is not isdn..
