I work in a call center and need to tranmit an 800 number instead of the company number. I set up the clid id and added it to a phone. But when i call an outside number it still transmits the companies number. I may have built the clid wrong, but dont know how to print it out to include in the post. Or is there something i need to do to the route?

thanks,
Bito

I found out how to print the CLID. So here it is, does it look right?

ENTRY 10
HNTN 888
ESA_HLCL
ESA_INHN NO
ESA_APDN YES
HLCL 2906432
DIDN NO
HLOC
LSC

thanks,

Hi,

Overhere we are not allowed to send CLI's that are not part of your DID range. If we send a CLI that is not part of the DID range the CO sends the main number.

You could turn on DCH trace in LD 96 to check which CLI you are sending to the CO.

If Bill Gates had a nickel for every time Windows crashed... Oh wait, he does...

that should work if your using entry 10 on your orig. station.

Thanks guys for the replys. Is there any reason why it wouldnt be working? We only have one other clid id on the switch and it appears to be sending that one even though the phone is programmed with clid id 10.

Thanks again,

Bito

Try making change to the other CLID table to see if you are really using or not.

You may need to talk to your telco provider.

Also, follow suggestion from one234 and turn on dchannel messaging and see what is sent. You may send one think and telco may send another.

I am pretty new to this I just took on a position as a tech level I and pretty much just did MACs up till now. So forgive me if i sound a little green....I am.

How would i turn on a DCH trace? I am looking in the NTPs and am having trouble figuring it out. Also, once i turn it on what would i be looking for?

Thanks again,

Jason

Goto LD 96

If you get DCH001, you do not have the ISDN package and cannot setup CLI yourself; the telco would do it.

Nortel recommends not doing this on a high traffic system.

In LD 96 Type

STAT DCH "look at what your DCH is"
ENL MSGO x "where x is your DCH - Turns on outgoing messages"
STAT MON "to check what messages are on"
DIS MSGO x "to cut messages off"

You will see a SETUP request when you make a call out. One line will begin with CALLING #. This will reflect the CLID entry setup on the Key you are using to call out on.

Thanks everyone for your help. It turns out the trunks are non-isdn so we can't transmit a clid.

thanks again for your responses.

If you work in a call center, I would expect that you T1's. Are the calls you are placing long distance, going out on a T1 to your long distance provider? If so, they may be able to program a 'static calling party number' on the group as a whole... so that every all that goes out on that T1 has the same number. I think that would work in your application. Do you know what kind of switch your carrier is using?

jg,

Thanks for the response. I do indeed work in a call center but can not program a whole group with the same number since we need to transmit multiple numbers on each route. We do outsourcing so we need to tranmit the clients 800 number instead of our number. We are going to migrate them to ISDN circuits and that should be a good learning experience so its all good.

Thanks,
j

Ah... i missed the multiple on the same group. When you move to ISDN, just confirm that the carrier can set up the 'default' to something that won't be a problem if it is transmitted, and that they translate it so that the CPN sent by your PBX is 'not' screened, so it will pass through. Good luck!

Although the original issue was because the OGT were non-ISDN (PRI), the example has a very critical flaw. You must send a valid (locator database) number for ESA (E911). The proper way to set the block in the example is as follows:

ENTRY 10
HNTN 888
ESA_HLCL 2125643210 (Valid E911 number)
ESA_INHN NO
ESA_APDN NO
HLCL 2906432 (Toll Number... 8882906432)
DIDN NO
HLOC
LSC

If you fail to set a valid E911 number, a call to 911 will cause a firestorm. This is critical for remote iSets.

print the set you are trying to get the clid to work on, and both of the resopnses are correct, the enl msgi (x)dch will show you a page of data per call, be carefull on that one during peak hours and try a load 80 trace 0 dn, static fromthe co is the usual problem.
