CLID issues for a 5 digit DN system

I have a 81C with a 5 digit DN numbering plan (5xxxx). When I modify the CLID table, it will add the Area Code and the NXX to the 5 digit DN (205-382-5xxxx).

Of course this gets rejected by the Telco and they just send out the main billing number.

Is it possible to remove the leading digit for the DN and insert the NPA and NXX for the caller ID (205-382-xxxx)?

Thanks in Advance

A long way to fix this would be building a clid table for each line that needs to send out the correct info, build it so it only sends out what you want, put the other phones in their own Clid table sending out a generic number.

Thanks Johnthephoneguy

This is a University with approx. 8000 phones. 80% are DID DNs. There is a 4000 CLID entry limit for the system. I explored this option, but the restrictions would still hinder us.

Well even if you could get the system to strip a digit you are no longer sending out the correct number. Why did they choose 5 digit instead of 4?

Are you saying your DNs are 5xxxx but the DID number is 2xxxx?

or DNs are 5 digits 25xxx and DIDs match with (205-382-5xxx)?

If the latter is true - just build your CLID as follows

HNTN = 205
HLCL = 38
DIDN = Yes

There are multiple sites. 3 81Cs and 2 11Cs. They are using the first digit to differentiate sites. They should have used LSCs , but it has gone bad already.

Do you know if the 4000 CLID limit is for ISDN calls only? We are implementing ESA and if the 4000 limit doesn't affect ESA calls, then we should be ok.

One solution might be to designate only certain numbers to actually send out the DID, It would be hard to believe that management can justify all 8000 DN's needing to send out CLID. If you can't beat the 4000 limit then ask management to decide who gets it

Reusser

The DN is 5XXXX and the DID is XXXX (205-382-XXXX). The 5 is inserted in the route.
