Hi,

We are having a difficult situation with Goldmine. In one of our tabs, if
you click on a field, the one next to it gets selected. Sometimes, a field
in one of the upper panes will be selected. But in any case, the field you
want to select is never selected.

Anyone every have this problem? How did you fix it?

Thanks

Nevermind, someone on the newsgroup answered it already.

The problem is corrupt or invalid data within fields5.dbf

We just restored the files from a backup and everything works perfectly now.

database maintenance might have also fixed it up since what you described is typical of a slightly hosed index file (fields.MDX).. if you don't do periodic maintenance, you shoudl take a look at devising a schedule of doing it or this sort of thing will happen again and again..

Thanks for your replies. Actually, we do maintenance every Sunday at 3:00 am. We have a HUGE database, so it takes forever, that's why we really couldn't do it in this situation because it would require everyone to log off, and they'd be without their calendars for too long.

well, you could have tried doing maintenance on individual files and picking just the 'Fields' item and NOT picking the pack and rebuild (or sort or verify) options in the maintenance wizard's subsequent screens... That would have probably taken no more than a minute or two, at worst. :)
