Clicking noise on all inbound calls 1

We have a strange issue of a clicking noise on inbound calls, caller can hear this but user on-site cannot.
We have replaced the PRI card and had the carrier preform end to end testing which has come back clear.
Any help as always would be appreciated.

When you reset the counter, are you seeing frame slips or errors (lcnt) on that PRI?
If so, maybe loop it at your CSU, clear your counter and monitor to see if the errors continue.
I'd guess it's either your carrier or some sort of clocking issue.

You know it's funny, I have one vendor that EVERY time I call their toll free number for support I hear bad clicking. They would never go into detail as to what type of PBX they had on their end, only that it was IP based. This has been going on for years. Just that one vendor. I'd be curious if anyone else has experienced that same thing.
 
Is this a fiber switch or igs? Could be a clock. Switch clocks and then make some test calls. Switch cores as well and make some test calls. I would look at the clocks first.

Ricky - it's fiber, I will get the guys to look at the clocking.

I've just been advised that we have an intermittent issue of calls dropping so I'm thinking its Possibilly be a carrier issue....although they say not ;)

Thanks for your help guys, this is the response from our voice support team. The carrier has been testing throughout the week and see no issue. Any thoughts as both the carrier and mainainer out of ideas. Many thanks as always

The PRI, MSDL and Clock Controller were changed on 2nd May and the AIS alarms were still appearing after this was done. AIS alarms aren't generated by the PRI card, they are usually injected by the NTE or carrier when there is a problem on the line. I've checked the clocking and the CC is locked to the PRI. There were AIS alarms between 06:00 and 08:00 this morning and the d-channel went down and established a couple of time during this period. Can you get the carrier to investigate please.
 
Yeah I would run backplane continuity tests in 39. You can also test 360. There are many helpful test in 39. Such as testing from one network to the other through the fijis. Get some documentation and take a look at it. If you can't do request your vendor to do it.
 
I had this at one of my previous customers and it was a network provider interconnect, get them to chek it properly, in my experience, network providers never admit to a fault being theirs and the faults usually disappear without explanation...
