Is there a way of displaying CLI on analog extensions?

yes sir, you'll need a class modem card in your switch, if your getting clid to the digital it shouldn't ve a problem

I looked it up, too many patch cards to fix small things!

Part number : NT5D60AA
Manual : 553-3001-154

I don't know why couldn't they just upgrade the analog card to send CLI... it would have been far simpler and easier to manage... someone at Nortel seems to be missing what the competitors are doing.

your not the 1st tech that had that thought, by selling a card that provided cli, they could see a few to a lot more users. i wouldn't change all 250 line cards, but i would add a few, of course on the other hand, analog station users don't usually get a lot of attention

Our supplier claims that CLI can only be shown over analog extension if the extension is directly dialed, but NOT if it was transferred..etc.

Is that true?

without a class modem card in place he may be right

So you need a Class License and a modem to get it to work... quite interesting!

no you need a class modem card, and i don't know about the lic, not a modem

My vendor told me I needed software specific to CLID on analog cards, plus voodoo, plus $$$$$ and said that after that it would work on all analog sets.
Anyone have any more information?

NARSBARS

Software: The following packages are required for the CLASS Calling Name and
Number Delivery feature:
• Calling Party Name Display (CPND) package 95
• CLASS Calling Number Delivery (CNUMB) package 332
• CLASS Calling Name Delivery (CNAME) package 333 and

hardware: class modem card

how do I check for those packages availability on my system?

Nortel second level support came back saying that by design the card sends CLI when the extension is directly called, however, the CLI is lost in case of transfer...

Can anyone confirm? the guy also said that his knowledge of the subject is 3 years old.

Thanks
