I have a Cypress fax server hooked up to a CS1000 using a DS1 programmed as Tie lines. I have a CLID table built and programmed in the CLEN Field for the route associated with the fax server. When the fax server calls out it does not send the CLID. Here is the trace info for the D channel on the outgoing call;CALLING NO = NUM_PLAN:E163 TON:UNKNOWN ESN:UNKNOWN

You are using a PRI connection (since you have a DCH)therefore the Cypress is probably sending a CLID information element (albeit an empty one).

Since the IE is there, the Nortel is probably ignoring the CLEN field. Your fix is going to have to be on the Cypress side most likely.

Thanks Fletch. The Cypress is programmed as an E&M Tie line. The outbound facilities are PRI. Any guess on what to tell the Cypress people. All signaling is in band. Do they need to append digits or something?

Tell them they need to modify their Calling Number Information Elements.

They are sending something because you got
"CALLING NO = NUM_PLAN:E163 TON:UNKNOWN ESN:UNKNOWN"

Ideally you want to send a 10 digit number with NUM_PLAN E164 and Type NATL.
