I created and indexed a Verity collection under CF. Subsequently I learned that one of the terms in my web pages was a Trademark, not a Registered mark as originally thought. I have tried purging the collection, deleting the collection, bouncing the CF server and still I cannot get it to recognize the new term now on the page. It insists on using the old version. I suspect that CF or Verity is hiding it away somewhere for performance reasons so that my deletes and purges aren't really cleaning everything out.

Does anybody know how to fix this?

I think I am. I first do a purge to (supposedly) clean things out and then do an update to rebuild the index.

According to what I have read, purging and then re-indexing is the way to handle this problem. So I am not sure what the problem is.

But there is another way to handle this. Try the hard way.... :)

<cfset IndexCollection = "HRDocs">
<cfset IndexDirectory = "C:\inetpub\ IndexRecurse = "yes">
<cfset IndexExtensions = ".htm, .cfm">
<cfset IndexLanguage = "english">

<cfindex
action="REFRESH"
collection="#IndexCollection"
type="PATH"
key="#indexdirectory#\"
extensions="#indexextensions#"
recurse="#indexrecurse#"
language="#indexlanguage#" URLPATH="<A HREF=" TARGET="_new"> that and let me know

Same thing happens as with the purge/update sequence.

Here's a snippet of the output when I do a search on the word textlink from the indexed collection. Note the copyright after the TextLink term:
<----snip---->
0.9115 Follett Educational Services: TextLink Textbook Information
Textbook Information The Textbook module of TextLink© allows you to add, view, edit or delete titles or copies. You can also enter large numbers of textbook titles from one TextLink© site to the collection of another site using the export and import features of TextLink©.
