I am not very familiar with lp commands and I would like to know how can I flush out the queue to the printer. I currently have jobs sitting in queue and they are not going anywhere.

Any ideas?

Try this

#/usr/ucb/lpc clean queuename

#/usr/ucb/lpc clean xxxx

This command clear all job in the queue.

By clearing the jobs, will they go to the printer or get deleted.
Thanks.

cancel <printer>-jobno should do the trick (lpstat -o will give you the job details). You could also stop the printer queue:

lpshut

then

/usr/lib/lpsched

to restart.

Hope this helps
