Clearing Tracked Changes in Word 2002

So I had a document in Word 2002. Tracked all the changes. Accepted all the changes. Issued the document.

Now I want to start tracking changes made from this day forward, and want to forget about all previous changes. Is there a simple way to do this?

I know that I could just copy everything into a new file, but I've got embedded graphics, logos in headers, tables of contents, different section, etc. and that always seems to screw up my formatting (or something) "just a little bit". Unfortunately, I can not tolerate this little change, and some of these documents are 100 pages long and I don't have time to go back and figure out if something got screwed up.

Any suggestions or do I need to go complain to Microsoft about this?

Hum.. Once you have accepted the changes and saved the document they are gone. You can't go back.

So all new changes will be still available if you activate track changes again!

No, when I accept the changes, and my view is "Final Showing Markup", the rev lines still show in the column. That's fine with me, I don't want to retain all the comments and notes, just the line indicator in the column showing what changed from last revision. What I wanted to do was to save it like that, then strip away all change history. Then I can start on a new revision with new marks in the column.

Just figured out how to do it...Microsoft has an addin that can be loaded called rhdtool.exe

This addin works for Excel, Word, and Powerpoint, and what it does is it strips away all personal data including comments and change history. Works very well for my purposes and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quick way to clear all that data before sending out a document. Also has a nice feature in that it prompts you to save the "stripped" version as a separate file so that you can retain a record of what you had before you ran it.

Hope someone reads this and doesn't waste a couple of hours looking for a solution to the problem like I did.
