I swapped out a dormant ds1 board and inserted a new tn464 and I have an onboard alarm.. how does this get cleared out?

when I try a 'test board 1d14' it says no board but it shows up in a 'li confi all'

Did you replace a TN464 with a TN464? If not, you have a ciruit pack conflict which will generate a minor alarm.

If you have NO administration on the DS1 circuit pack (no "add ds1 01D14" has been done), then you WILL get an alarm. There is no way to clear it, other than to pull the card out, or "add ds1 01d14" and set it up.. even then, it will prbably still alarm, if its not in use.

You can also see if your pack was administered via the "display sync port 1", if you don't see that circuit pack listed, you don't have any administration done to that pack. the card will always show up in the "list config all"

I pulled out an old TN767 in slot 1d14 which had no ports assigned to it. I then inserted a TN464 and the board shows up in the 'list config all' but when i try to do a 'test board 1d14' it says no board present.

so that means it's just not administered?? I've tried this board in a few different slots with the same result.

I've had a scenario like this before, where a I took a boar from a slot and inserted another one of a differentmodel. I had to reboot the PBX for the processor to pick up the new card. Try this when you have the less voice usage.

When you pull up the list config, does it show the board there after you remove it from the slot? If so do the "ch cir" command and remove it first.

Hell, there are no rules here - we're trying to accomplish something.

if that doesnt work, you'll have to insert the card again, busy it out, then remove it
