Clear out SQL log files using legato.

Hi,

Is there a way to clearout the sql transaction log files automatically from the sql executable for the legato backups?

Sure. You can do this via the Notifications:
- Modify your Savegroup Completion notification to execute a script, which
will also delete these files.


 
Thanks but I do not get it.

The notification is run on the backup server. A sun box. The SQL instance is in an Windows Compaq Server.

How do I set a pre command and post command on an windows server I know how to do it on the sun server through the savegroup.res file. Is it the same ?

this is done by using the backup command "savepnpc".

- Just enter this string in the appropriate fielf in your client resource.
- Then start the automatic backup. It will create a
..\nsr\res\group_name.res file at the client.
- Then edit the "postcmd" entry of this file to do whatever you want.
- Test it by starting the group again.
