Hi all, any help on this would be much appreciated...

Basically what i am wanting to do is run a query that shows all records that are 'bad' records ie. where data has been missed out etc and are no use in the database.

I have the query setup and also the form that shows the records but i am unable to figue out how to 'individually' select records to choose for deletion.

I know you can run a 'delete query' but i am only wanting to delete individually selected records.

Chris

When you are in the table datasheet view click on the record selector (Ash color square at the left hand side)
this will highlight the record you can click delete command.
Or if you want to see the records together before you delete them, run a query to find that records. Then it is up to you to delete together or individually.

Thanks for the reply Zameer but the query results are shown on a tab form, not in table view therefore i need a solution where the user can either 'select all' or 'individually' select records for deletion.

Chris :)

Then try to add a yes/no field to the the table, and use that as an additional criterion for your delete query.

RoyVidar's idea also not bad..
you can create a delete button on your form at the end of fields, if it is a continues form. So that you can delete individual record. Or it should be a form in a datasheet view.
But why can't you stop the users entering unwanted/bad records in to the database? Stop them from entering it from the data entry level. I am not saying to stop them physically.. stop them by code. Heh..

Thanks to you both, i think ill give Roys idea a go and build on that :)

Thanks again
Chris

And what about when the users delete some records "by mistake"? There's no getting them back.

Perhaps if you had some solid criteria on what is "BAD", i.e. "Emp Name is blank" then you can program in to delete those things yourself. But then again Zameer's idea is best: ensuring the correct data is entered up front...
