Cleaning up Analog sets from CS1000E

I understand that in LD 30 that DROL will disable sets that are not plugged in. It is my understanding that this will find ONLY digital sets. I am running thru the clean-up process also and would like to use the easiest method of cleaning up Analog sets that are no longer plugged in. Any suggestions??

Unfortunately the only way you can identify is either calling or tracing physical wiring from punch down to actual jack.

As mentioned, no real easy way to do this. What I will typically do is call the DN's and see if you get an answer ) fax/modem tone ), if not, disable a few at a time and leave for a week. If someone complains all you have to do is enable the TN. If no one complains, out the TN.

Thanks guys. Your answer is what I expected but did not want to get thru this process and find out that there way an easier way.

In the UK, we have another way by pluging in a multi meter from the wiring frame to test the line for a capacitor fitted in the line jack. If both wires test disconnected, then it's a good chance that the port is spare.

You just might want to put out an e-mail stating that there is an "Audit" running. The user must reply to info@yourcompany.com with the User Name, Number, and Type of phone they are using. Otherwise, the non-respondents sets will be "outed" and un-usable. We normally have a 95% response and disable the others for 10 days.

If you have call detail recording run a report that shows extensions that have not made a call for the last month. Then disable to somebody complains.
