The customer says yes and says also thet the barcodes are correct.
I've asked for the model

You have reached the limit of errors...go into Control Panel in the CommServe Console and change the values under the Hardware (think it's Hardware Configuration or something) setting to reset the counters (or raise the limits for LTO3 Cleaning Media.

I had this issue on some cleaning tapes before
I had to relabel them with new barcodes and rediscover.
I deleted them before and it still did not work with the out of the box labels

I just discovered as cleaning media and it worked fine.
Might not be the same issue but Try what Birky says first.

Frank

To birky:
Of course the limit of error has been reached but the problem is that if the procedure should start she do not start at all....

To Frbutler:
I do not exactely understand what you mean...
-I should "delete" the barcode of the cleaning tapes
- Relabel the cleaning tapes
- Put them in the cleaning group
- Rediscover
Correct ???

Right click on the media and choose delete...

by relabel i mean put a new physical barcode label on them
Then do a full scan and you will see the tape in as unknown media... right click and discover as cleaning media

This is what I did and it worked for me.
Otherwise it is time for the log file shuffle with CV support

Frank

May seem obvious but, have you tried a different cleaning tape?

Don't forget though...even if you manage to move the tape from slot to drive then it isn't going to work until you reset because the limits have been reached.

Aye ....they all have a little rfid type stickers inside of them than maintains the # of mounts/Errors
The drives have the readers inside of them

Hello Birky and Frbutler,

Could You please explain what I have to do exactely and where.....

Thanks and regards

go into control panel ---> hardware configuration and look for the section that includes tapes.
Reset the counters or just raise them to a higher value.

Looking again at your error above I also think you should try a different barcode as FRbutler says...I've seen this before when someone used barcodes that had been printed but, they were incorrect.

I have been doing the log and ERSet shuffle with CV on this issue for over two months now - my 136PV library will not recognise any tapes as cleaning media, even when the automatic recognitation is set off and it is imported as a cleaning media, I went through 2 new ones before I was informed that the drives should only be cleaned once a year and to do it manually. They still have no idea why it won't work and they have broken my spirit on the issue.
