cleaning plux in VVM

hello Guys,
i have a issue with veritas volume mgr.
I cant seem to clear the plux and attach it back to the volume.
Can you please tell me the steps i need to follow in order to mend this problem.
i am trying vxmend fix clean etc, i dont know the exact order of steps and am running into trouble.
its a prd box so i cant stop the volume.
please help

Hi

try this on the plex in question...

#vxmend off plex_name

#vxmend on plex_name

plex shoudl now be in DISABLED STALE state

#vxrecover -b volname

#vxtask list ..to check recovery progress

Hi if the above doesn't work could you post a 'vxdisk list' output?

Some useful info on IOFAIL - you may have a problem with the disk.

IOFAIL Plex State

The IOFAIL plex state is associated with persistent state logging. When the vxconfigd daemon detects an uncorrectable I/O failure on an ACTIVE plex, it places the plex in the IOFAIL state to exclude it from the recovery selection process at volume start time.

This state indicates that the plex is out-of-date with respect to the volume, and that it requires complete recovery. It is likely that one or more of the disks associated with the plex should be replaced.
