Clean windows2000 install? 2

I have finally given up with windows xp. Despite extremely helpful advice from beer4meok it just isn't worth it with my outdated hardware. Could someone please tell me how to do a clean install of windows2000? I have the windows2000 installation CD but cannot work out how on earth one goes about a clean install. Just tried installing windows2000. Did the above as suggested but got the message "Windows 2000 is incompatible with this version of Windows. For more information, contact Microsoft.". Can anyone help me do a clean install of windows2000. I currently am using windows xp. Thank you. Mark.

Put the Win2k CD in during boot-up and configure your BIOS to boot from CD. Install 2k as normal through this process.

Boot from 2k install CD. When prompted about partition to install to, remove (delete) the current XP (NTFS 3.1) partition. Then install 2k in unpartitioned space (or if you feel more comfortable, create partition first. After this just follow instructuions from install process.
