G'day,

Be hoping all you had a wonderful Holiday.

I downloaded and saved to my desktop IE 7.0 from Microsoft. Was using Fire Fox in the mean time. I used Add/Remove Programs, and removed IE 7.0. I then used Windows Explorer to see if it had been removed from the "Program Files" on C Drive, everything was there ... I tried to delete it and it would not let me, said it was being used by another program, but I had closed everything, so I went ahead and Installed the New IE 7.0, rebooted as directed, all the old settings were there, it's as though I have the old IE 7.0 Installed. Is there some way to remove that from my Program Files and or Registry so I can clean Install IE 7.0? Ta Mates! (Thanks)

G'day,

IE 6.0 is there, but so is all the setting and stuff that was the reason I wanted to clean install 7.0 is still there, everything in my History, Browser, and all settings, I wanted to start from scratch, is that possible? Can I get rid of IE 6 so I can clean install, from scratch 7.0?

Ta Mate

Sorry, I forgot to add, can I delete/remove it from Program Files on my C Drive, and the registry?

Delete IE6 from add remove programs & then go for the uninstall I posted earlier

Mate, IE 6 is not showing up in the Add/Remove area, but it's still on the C Drive Programs Files, tried to delete, it said it was being used by another program

G'day BadBigBen,

Whilst the Easy Tour of the program had a lot of information, will it affect my FireFox Settings, or just the IE 7.0?

Cheers

See the various ways of removing IE7 that are mentioned in this article, ignore the information about repairing Windows.

How to perform a repair installation of Windows XP if Internet Explorer 7 is installed

I would try this article first as it might just solve all your problems with IE7.

How to use Reset Internet Explorer Settings (RIES)

will it affect my FireFox Settings, or just the IE 7.0?
No, it will only delete the the History, Temporary Internet files... CCleaner will not delete FF settings at all, but will clear the CACHE... it will though clean all unnecessary temporary files, junk files, and logs. You can preselect what it does, basically it is a tool that you configure...

but before you do that, check Linney's links out...
