I reacently desided to update my database from the old DOS clarion 2.8 to MySql.
I have downloaded the ccvt.exe program which does the work.
The problem is that I ve been asked for an Owner ID which Its not possible to find cause the creator of the Database is dead.
The best program is clarion viewer which, for some reason, can read the tables of my database without
asking me for an Owner ID.
Also there was a programmer years ago who could view my db clarion tables without knowing any IDs or passwors. Unfortunatly I can not find him either.
Can you suggest me a way of dealing with these tables or find the owners ID ?

Hi!

To extract the data in a Clarion DAT, there is a freeware utility called CLADIR. I could not find any reference to it on the web and I have uploaded my copy at :

for you to download. The usage to extract data in a CSV format is ::

CLADIR -L <DATFileName> > <CSVFileName>

This will work on Encypted files with Owners ID as well.

To find out the Owner's ID for any other reason, you could try searching the EXE file in a HEX editor (CSCN.exe will also do) for the filename. If the developer has not encypted the Owner's ID nor supplies it at runtime, it could be there next to the file name. This approach may or may not work.

YOU ARE MY HERO!!!
Thanx cladir -d <filename> gives a case sensitive ownerid also!

Thanx again.

Hi!

That ID is NOT the original ID but a compatible ID which you can use anyway. That's because the Owner ID is not stored as is but as a checksum and any compatible Owner ID which will generate the checksum will work also.

Regards

Hello ShankarJ!
I need to download CLADIR but the link doesn't work. Can you upload it again?
