I know that the UCx can connect to multiple digital gateways. We have a UCx 50 with two Gateways (both with Expansions) servicing a school. In theory, as long as there is network connectivity between your hosted virtual UCx and the on-site Digital Gateway, it should work up to your licensing and virtual resource machine capacity.

The determining factor is the capacity of the UCx, meaning how many users you're licensed for, and the hardware capacity of the given UCx model.
There is no cap on how many gateways you can connect to a UCx.
