Having trouble in an older Definity to ping CLAN, tried everything, asked them to set 10 or 100/Full No Auto Negotiate on the port, and finally Network Admin says their router can not support Flow Control.

I'm asking them to supply the make/model of the router to see if a firmware upgrade may resolve this or recommend replacing their router.

Does anyone know of a work-around or other solution for this issue?

Thanks,

Toni

You could ask the network person to verify that there is no access list in place blocking traffic.

Is the CLAN plugged directly into the router or a layer 2 network switch? If a layer 2 network switch, see if you can ping the CLAN from the switch. If you can, then you know the network connectivity and your CLAN are configured correctly.

Are you able to ping from the PBX, using the CLAN, to any other network IP? If not, double check your subnet mask, gateway address, and IP on your CLAN.

We got this worked out, it was a Cisco Router and they just needed to get the port settings correct, the IT guy finally hard set it to 10/Full and they can ping with success.

Thank you for all of your help!
