We are trying to publish a 3270 emulator (Ibms Host on Demand and PCom), when we connect to the servers the clients have the IP address of the metaframe servers. Does anyone know how to use workstations IP address.
Thanks
Chris
Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.
We are implementing a new Citrix Farm, we have 3270 emulator software to connect to our IBM mainframe. The software that we are trying is Host on Demand or Pcom(Personal Communications), when we publish that app and a user connects to the mainframe via Pcom the user gets the IP address of the Citrix server in connecting to the mainframe. For some of our mainframe apps we need to map the IP addresses to static CICS ids, so we need to have the IP addresses unique, but with citrix it always used the server IP address that the user connects to.
Is this obtained from the software or is it set in environment variables?
If it's programmed in, then the emulator will pick up the Citrix servers' IP address. If you can set it somewhere, then maybe I can knock a quick program to read the IP address and store it where needed?
