Hi,

I've been reading a lot of threads on different boards on moving the Citrix Data Store to different SQL Servers and I have a question. I currently am using Citrix Presentation Server 3.0.

When you move a data store that is on SQL Server 2000 to another server that also has SQL Server 2000, do you do a DSMAINT MOVE or a DSMAINT MIGRATE?

I thought that DSMAINT MOVE was to move the data store database to another server that has the same database server platform, such as SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2000.

However, I see that other people on the board who have been in the same situation as me which is moving the data store to one SQL Server 2000 to another SQL Server 2000, have been recommending using DSMAINT MIGRATE.

I thought DSMAINT MIGRATE was used whenever you did a data store migration from one database platform to a entirely new platform, such as SQL Server 2000 to Oracle or Microsoft Access to SQL Server 2000.

So I was wondering which one should I used to move the data store from SQL Server 2000 to another SQL Server 2000?

Thanks.

David

Hi

Use DSMAINT CONFIG to move a SQL datastore to another SQL server.

1. Create a new SQL DSN file on each citrix server that points to the new SQL server.

2. Then use DSMAINT CONFIG on each server.
