Anyone here running their Citrix farm on a vm infrastructure? Like VI3?

We're just getting the ball rolling on going all virtual with vmware infrastructure 3 and I'm still a bit nervous how well our citrix servers will perform. We're a smaller shop, only about 85 citrix/terminal server users on 2k3 server standard. Currently our farm is on four physical servers. Dual-core xeons with 4GB ram each. Once we're virtual, it'll probably be three esx servers with dual quad-core (or six-core) xeons and of course each vm will still have 4GB ram with it.

Anyway, just curious if anyone out there is already doing this? How's it going? Good performance? Any "gotch-ya's" along the way?

Snootalope,
I think that you'll find A LOT of data out there about Citrix on VMware, it's been a hot debate for a while.
For example, from google search:
download3.vmware.com/vmworld/2006/tac9728.pdf
This is an older thread here, but many of their arguments still apply:

IMHO, with VMware 3.x there have been huge improvements, and I think for the benefits of VMware (HA, DRS, Vmotion, etc...) the slight loss in performance, if any, are far outweighed by the feature gains. I would look at using iSCSI for your storage if you don't already have a san.

Thanks,
Good luck,
