Does anyone know whether there's a way to use Citrix MetaFrame® Presentation Server for a client that does not want to download and install a client plugin? I recall back in university when I used Citrix and not having to install a client onto my computer. I think it was just a simple applet of some sort.

Thanks.

We use Nfuse for web access into Our Ctrix Farm. We use Roaming profiles to present a desktop to all users. You can also publish applicaitons. We have not been able to get the Java Client to work properly in our environment, so we have the user install the Web32 client, which is available from our coporate Nfuse website.

Thanks for the reply Sportz.

Has anyone gotten any other clients to work without actually installing the Web32 client?

lck092580,
You will need to use the Java client in order to have a "zero" footprint via NFuse/Web Interface.
This will allow the client to connect via Web Interface without having a ICA client installed on it.

There are some limitations with the Java client but if you just need a person to connect to your Citrix farm without having an ica client installed....it will do the trick.

Hope that helps.

Hi Enigma99,

Where do I get or enable the Java client?

Thanks for the response.

lck092580,
Here is a link to Web Interface Admin guide:

Search for "java client" and it will show you how to configure the fail-back feature on web interface and the access suite.

You will have to download the java ica client from citrix.com client downloads section.

Hope that helps.

Hi Enigma99,

I've browsed through the PDF but doesn't actually tell you how to. I'll keep looking. Thanks.
