I need to be able to use CV (with CW for Windows) to monitor some 3550 switches in read-only mode. Right now I am using a read community string, and can only view overall switch status and some switch and port level graphs. I really need to be able to see how the ports are configured, (VLAN assignment, duplexing, etc.) but don't want to be able (and won't be allowed) to alter anything. How can my Ops people set this up?

chuck,
There are many ways you can see the configuration.

1- Check the device Attributes to see if you have the Telnet and Enable passwords set.
Form RME, pull the device and go to the Device Center, click on Config Quickview Report.

2- From RME > Conf Mgmt > NetConfig. Click on Job, New Job.
Select the Device and Click on View Configuration.

3- From Campus Manager > Topology Services > Managed Domains
> VTP Domains > Your Domain. click on the device you are looking for. You should be able to see all the ports with VLANs, Status.

I hope that's what you're looking for
