Has anyone had any issues with Cisco VWICS and the IPO PRI card. 406V2, 3.2.55.

When I plug a T1 loopback into the VWIC, the amber alert light goes out, and I get a link light.

The vendor has confirmed everything is up on the IAD (Cisco 1700), interface is up, etc.

Switch, protocols, etc on the IPO are the same and verified with the vendor on the Cisco IAD.

For the love of......., I cannot get the PRI and the VWIC to form a link. They are scheduling to come out with a T-Bird to do further diagnosis.

Anyone ever have the same issue with a a Cisco VWIC

Have you tried a T1 crossover cable? pin 1 to pin 4 and pin 2 to pin 5. I have done it many times. I am not sure it is the same card on the Cisco but it has worked.

I had a major issue with an upgrade to a VoIP/PRI circuit on a 406v2 with 3.2(55). We did have have a link. If you don't have a link yet, I recommend trying a crossover as stated above.

Immediately after the cutover, outside calls would ring, but you could not answer most of them. You could dial out some of the time.

Provider said that everything left their equipment fine and blamed the cable and our PRI card. Both had been in service since last year.

After much going back and forth, they finally changed out the WIC card on the Cisco IAD (don't know the model number). Problem solved.

Good luck,
Frank

I was looking for a third angle and that should do the trick !
The loopback took the alert off/link up so the T1 Crossover Patch Cord is something that was not on my radar !

thx!
