Hello; thanks for this service. I just got a new work laptop and it uses a Cisco VPN and works well with dial-up. I was able to use it fine with an ethernet cable at a hotel recently (only after changing the MTU of the VPN client at someone's suggestion) but am having a heck of a time setting it up to work with my SMC 7004 VWBR Router via wired or wireless. I don't know a lot about this and have learned more in the last 48 hours than I really wanted to. I called my company but they only support Linksys routers. I know SMC allows IPSec pass thru so it seems it should work. I've opened all sorts of ports on the router and tried every MTU setting. Its acting like it did at the hotel before I changed the MTU. It connects through the VPN; states the connection is secure; but will not get on our intranet or process e-mail through exchange. I've tried pinging the server and it times out; I guess I'm not getting through at all. Any thoughts?

Thank you for the information. Assuming you can establish VPN, the ipconfig /all should show two connections, one for the local connection and another for the VPN. So, we need more information to help you. what are your local ip and vpn ip? alos post routing table after establishing vpn.

How do I get a routing table?

Thanks

Oh well; I bought a Linksys WRT54G and it works great with the VPN with no additional configuration.

Thanks
