Trying to setup a UBR924 router with my cable provider ( adelphia powerlink ) .. not having much luck setting it up as a bridge or as a router ) .. When I connect up and I try to debug the config... I notice that the router never links up with my isp... in the diag - I see " Range 1 state "Failed"... I dont know what exactly this means.. can any help me out here.

Secondly, is ther any users (adelphia powerlink) users out there that would be willing to share a config.

Regards,

and thanks

Have you called them and had them add you mac address to their scope. You will need to do this first. after that the default config on the ubr should work for bridging, if you need more help let me know(I have one)

CCNA MCP NET+ A+

I've also just acquired a ubr924 and was pretty excited to get it connected. After playing around with the config for awhile, I read that it should work in bridge mode with the original, out-of-the box config. I restored the original config with "write erase". I plugged the cable into the modem, and connected a patch cable between the router and a linux box that I have running NAT and dhcp for my internal network. This setup has been working perfectly with the cable modem issued to me by Adelphia but not with the Cisco. I don't see any indication that the cable modem is even getting a signal. Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply.

I will try out the method suggested and acknowledge the results.

Rgds and Thanks
