I telent to a Cisco router and from there I telnet to a Vanguard. After I logout of the Vanguard how can I trace back to the cisco.

After logging out I get

OK

I tried Cntrl P which gives me a right arrow and then i tried quit which
gives me error I also tried

Cntrl } which give me a double arrow <->

I opened up a case with Vanguard Tech support and the tech I spoke with wasn't sure but he stated that the above should have worked. Do you know how I can trace back to the original connection.

Thanks

That's a headache I've had to deal with for years. ON Vanguards you pick and choose the feature sets you want when creating an OS image to load onto the unit, depending on what you want to do, memory in the unit, etc. One of these "features" gets you right to the menu and one just gets you to the ok prompt, this doesn't matter whether you telnet to it or connect serially. But with the versions I have been working with 5.1-5.3 I can never get out of that OK prompt when I'm done working. I just close the window on my terminal or disconnect from whatever other router i may be connecting from and go on. If you wait a while 2-3 mins I think, it will disconnect but I am too impatient...

:)

Not much help.....on that document

From the Ok I want to be able to trace my steps backwards to where i started from the cisco router. If i do a ctrl }
and enter and then type quit....i loose everything and am forced to start all over again. AHHHH its driving me nuts....I hate VANGUARD!!!
