Hi all,

We just created a tie trunk from Cisco Router to Nortel CS1000e and the calls can flow ok back and forth but the Nortel PBX getting this error message DTA0017.

Since this PBX is monitored by the vendor so they call us all the time.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Thank you

DTA0017 loop Frame slip-free run (non-tracking)-maintenance limit.
Action:
Severity: Critical. Critical to Monitor: Yes. SNMP trap: Yes

If it's being monitored by the Vendor, tell them to fix it, thats what you pay them for.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

This is something that we do it in our own. The tie trunk was built few years back and we just connected to Cisco Router.

If everything is always working fine, you could ask your monitoring vendor to remove that specific message from alerting them until you correct this.

With that out of the way, you could ask someone who owns a tberd T1/PRI analyzer to see if they can isolate the source of the error. Most system vendors have them, but specify the person using it should be trained or more experienced at interpreting the results.

It maybe a clocking issue. Check your DDB info to see to see if your PBX was clocking off that tie route.

Clocking is in Free Run, is this the only T-1 in the system?

Yes,

We just found out that the Nortel is providing the clocking. We thought that the Cisco Router is proving the clocking.

Thank you all
