Hi
Some of the ports in the switch 2900 is dropping and reconnecting again, if we are using the Database we need to restart the pc. Can you pls advice me a soln for this.

Try the basic things first.

Check the stats on the 2900 and look for collisions, late collisions, and other error stats.

Make sure that your duplex on each end of a link matches.

Check how your spanning-tree is operating (if enabled). Is there any means by which a redundant path exists between the 2900 and any other switch? You may need to look for a loop condition.

Those are my thoughts.

A bad cable can also cause up/downs. I've seen it recently.

if your pc is set to auto speed/duplex, try forcing it and the router to the same. start with 10/half, then 10/full, etc. some NIC's dont like to auto-negotiate very well. Degg
