I have a Cisco 3640 router ver 12.2. I am looking for a Cisco switch, what would be a good match on a limited budget from ebay?

Hello
It all depends on what you whant to do.Will it go into production or for studying CCNA/CCNP.You need voice,QOS support? All of the above is relevant to the choice of a switch.

Minue,

It is a home lab not a production network. And also for studying CCNA/CCNP and vlans. Voice would be nice but not a requirement.

Thanks
Ray

Hello
The best switch for the CCNA would be the 2950!But the 2900XL-EN is cheaper, the only problem is that a few commands are different. As far as the CCNP goes it best to have a level 3 switch. The prices for level 3 switches are quite expensive now.So it would be best to buy one when you start your CCNP in the future, certainly then the prices will be lower.

Minue,

Thanks for your input. I appreciate it alot.
