Cisco Internal Callling Problem

The Problem: We cannot make internal (Cisco 6XXXX to Cisco 6XXXX) calls without having to route the calls out over our QSIG PRI tieline to our Nortel CS1000MG where the call hits a CDP steering code sending it back over the tieline to the 6XXXX destination back in the CUMC where it started.

History: In the CUMC there is a Route Pattern directing the calls out the Route List that utilizes the QSIG PRI tieline. This was originally because all the 6XXXX station were in fact based in the Nortel CS1000. However, we have moved all of those stations into the CUMC: there is no longer any need for any 6XXXX calls to be routed to the CS1000.

All the 6XXXX telephones are in the CUMC but cannot each other without being roiuted to the Nortel. When we delete the Route Pattern 6XXXX from the CUMC any call to a 6XXXX station gets blocked with a recording 'can't be reached as dialed'.

This is a basic, internal, station to station call - it shouldn't have to bounce off the Nortel to work!

Can't wait to hear what I'm overlooking.

Have you tried using dial number analyzer to verify that the programming is sending the internal traffic properly? My thought is the dial number analzyer will not route the call how you're expecting. You should be able to expand the information and you might be able to see where your problem is.

I would also check to make sure that each phone with a 6XXXX number are using the same route partitions or route partitions that are common to each other.

The CSS that you have applied to the 6XXXX phones. Are the internal partitions setup within those CSS? Thinking when these where built to function specifically Nortel that the internal partition that you typically use for calling wouldn't be applied to the CSS.

It's tough to say without seeing the programming but that's where I would start.

[pipe]eXACTly right Hank! Found that the original install did not include the Internal partition in the CSS of the 6XXXX phones. Thanks for the quick solution. Very grateful.

happy new year to you.
